Calculate adult BMI in metric or US units. See the CDC category, healthy weight range for your height, distance to the range, formula, and a visual BMI chart.
Adult height and weight
Standard adult BMI categories apply from age 20. Children and teens need sex-specific BMI-for-age percentiles.

Adult BMI calculator for women and men
Adult BMI uses the same formula and category thresholds for women and men. Height and weight determine the number; sex is not part of the adult calculation.
BMI formula in metric and US units
Metric BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. US BMI is weight in pounds divided by height in inches squared, multiplied by 703.
BMI chart and healthy weight range
The healthy adult category starts at BMI 18.5 and ends below 25. The weight range shown here applies those two boundaries to the entered height.
BMI limits and age
BMI is one screening indicator and cannot measure body composition. People age 2–19 require BMI-for-age percentiles rather than adult thresholds.
