Brick & Block Calculator — Wall, Mortar, Pallets & Cost
Estimate brick or concrete block walls with doors and windows. Calculate courses, units, waste, pallets, mortar bags, edge cuts, and material cost.
Measure the wall
Exact dimensions calculate units per course, number of courses, and edge cuts.
Subtract doors and windows
Openings are removed from the wall before brick, block, and mortar quantities are calculated.
Brick, block, and bond
Use actual unit dimensions. Presets include the manufacturing size so the mortar joint produces the nominal module.
Waste, pallets, mortar, and cost
Bond choice sets a starting waste allowance. Edit supplier pallet counts, unit price, and bag yield for your product.

How the masonry estimate is calculated
Brick calculator for walls
Measure wall length and height, then subtract doors and windows. The calculator combines actual brick size with the mortar joint to estimate units per course, courses, waste, pallets, and material cost.
Concrete block calculator
Choose the 16 × 8 block preset for concrete or cinder block walls, or enter the actual dimensions from your supplier. Double-check bond beams, corners, half blocks, lintels, and reinforced cells separately.
Brick mortar calculator
Mortar volume is estimated from wall volume minus installed masonry volume, plus 10% handling allowance. Bag yield varies by product, joint profile, unit absorption, and installer, so verify the manufacturer’s yield.
Brick wall cost and waste
Running bond starts with 7% waste, stack bond 5%, and Flemish bond 10%. Enter price per unit for brick or block material cost. Delivery, labor, reinforcement, ties, flashing, lintels, and tax are not included.
