Statutory Redundancy Pay

Estimate statutory redundancy pay and see which years and pay limits count.

For employees. Excludes notice, holiday pay and wages; eligibility must be checked.

If notice was shortened or paid instead of worked, confirm the age and service dates with your employer, Acas or the Labour Relations Agency. The statutory relevant date can add a complete year.

Check the pay and service basis

Use your confirmed statutory week’s pay, not a take-home amount. Regular hours and pay normally use normal contractual gross weekly pay. Variable pay can need a 12-week reference calculation; unpaid weeks, overtime, bonuses and commission may need special treatment. Family-related leave normally uses normal contractual pay. Check the official guidance or ask payroll if unsure.

Continuous service can differ from the time since your latest job title or payslip began. Transfers, breaks and statutory notice can affect it. This tool accepts confirmed completed years and age; it does not infer legal continuity, extend notice dates or classify your employment.

Use the original redundancy date for the rate, as the GOV.UK calculator asks. When notice is paid instead of worked, the statutory relevant date can affect the service and age used. Confirm these inputs with Acas in Great Britain or the Labour Relations Agency in Northern Ireland.

Eligibility and payments outside this estimate

The ordinary statutory service condition is at least two continuous years as an employee. Suitable alternative work, misconduct, certain excluded occupations and other circumstances can change entitlement. An amount here is conditional; it does not establish a legal right to payment.

Notice pay, holiday pay, unpaid wages, protective awards, contractual-scheme formulas and tax are not calculated. An employer may offer a higher redundancy amount or a shorter qualifying period. Check the actual contract and obtain advice rather than using a zero statutory estimate as a complete settlement figure.

For dates outside the supported rate periods, use the official calculator. Future dates use the rules checked on 26 October 2026; later legal changes are not predicted. No claim or deadline is submitted or calculated here.
